All our shells are priced in Euros, but we accept payment in three different currencies:

Pounds Sterling

The exchange rates we use are the interbank rates on the date of your invoice, as quoted on the International Currency Converter. There is no commission and no hidden charge for converting between these currencies.

For payment in Euros, we accept:
Direct transfers from your bank (please ask for our bank details)
PayPal (account of simonaiken@ukonline.co.uk)
Cash by registered mail (at your own risk)

For payment in US Dollars, we accept:
Checks or MOs from a US bank (payable to "Simon's Specimen Shells Limited")
PayPal (account of simonaiken@ukonline.co.uk)
Cash by registered mail (at your own risk)

For payment in Sterling, we accept:
Cheques from a bank with a UK base (payable to "Simon's Specimen Shells Limited")
International Giro cheques
PayPal (account of simonaiken@ukonline.co.uk)
Direct transfers from your bank (please ask for our bank details)
Cash by registered mail (at your own risk)

We also accept payment by Visa and Mastercard. Your card will be charged either in
Euros (for European customers) or Sterling. Our banking system does not enable us
to make charges in US Dollars.

We now discourage payment by PayPal, because of the PayPal fee structure. Please note that our PayPal account does not accept payments via credit card. Please make payments directly from your own PayPal account. Please note that all PayPal fees must be paid by the buyer.

When you order from us, you pay only the actual postage costs – no hidden extras and no packing or handling charges. Postage rates from the UK are among the lowest in the world: a 100g package costs only £1.31 to Europe (about €1.47), £1.39 within the UK, and £1.82 to all other countries (about €2.05). Follow these links to see how the postage rates vary according to the weight of your parcel:

For international orders exceeding €100 there is a registration fee of £4.25, and for orders over €200 there is an additional £2.50 charge for insurance. Please note that these are the exact amounts charged to us by the post office. For orders exceeding €400 all registration and insurance costs are paid by Simon's Specimen Shells. Orders to UK customers between €100 and €400 are sent by recorded mail and the cost of recording is £0.74.
